Ukraine Consultant at The Docket

Tanya Mazur is a Human Rights and International Law specialist with over 20 years of experience in Ukraine, Eastern Europe, and former Soviet areas. From her third year in university she worked with Solidarity Union, an executive partner of UNHCR, providing legal assistance to refugees and asylum seekers.  In 2006 she became a board member of Amnesty International Ukraine, rising to the Executive Director of the organization from 2008-2016. Since 2016, Tanya has been working as an independent consultant with multiple Human Rights organizations. Tanya is a board member of the Stichting Justice Initiative and KyivPride NGOs.  She holds a Master’s Degree in Law from the Lviv National University.  She completed the International Protection of Human Rights Course at the Institute for Human Rights at Abo Akademi University in Finland and the Senior Leadership Development Program of the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. Tanya is fluent in Ukrainian, English and Russian.
