Supplemental Privacy Notice for Waging Justice for Women Fellowship Applicants

This notice supplements the Privacy Notice and describes how we collect, use, share, and retain personal data when you participate in the application process for the Waging Justice for Women (WJW) Fellowship Program. Please let us know if you have any questions about this supplemental policy.

What Additional Data We Collect About You

  • Data you provide about yourself
    • When you participate in the WJW Fellowship Program application process, we will ask you to provide personal data such as your: name, gender, email address, phone number, social media handles, country of citizenship, country of residence, information regarding where you are admitted to practice, a summary of your recent legal experience, a statement of interest, a CV or resume, names of references, and contact information (phone numbers and email addresses) for such references.
    • Before uploading your CV or resume, please remove any sensitive personal data such as government issued ID numbers, financial information, photos, dates of birth, etc. We do not require or wish to receive sensitive personal data in a CV or resume.
  • Data we receive from other sources
    • We may receive personal data about you from other sources, your references, prior employers, and/or publicly available sources. If we think you may be a good fit for the fellowship, we may also employ a third party to conduct a consumer background check on your admission to practice, character, reputation, personal characteristics which may be used in establishing your eligibility for the fellowship program. This report may include information from court, administrative or criminal records if and to the extent permitted by applicable law.

How We Use This Additional Data

In addition to the uses specified under the Privacy Notice, we may use this additional data to evaluate applicants for purposes of selection to the WJW Fellowship Program for our legitimate interest.

When We Share this Additional Data

We may share your personal data with partners implementing the WJW Fellowship Program and with host organizations.

How Long We Keep This Additional Data

We store personal data of all applicants in accordance with the Privacy Notice.  If you are selected for the WJW Fellowship Program, we may retain your application and any other information we relied on during the application process as part of our files and to including in our WJW Fellowship Program alumni files. Please note that you have the right to delete application information at any time, so you may want to retain any copies of any information you provide to us during the application process.

How You Can Access and Control this Additional Data

If you wish to access or correct your personal data, or object to our data processing, please contact us. Please note that neither changes to, or deletion of, such personal data will alter personal data already relied upon or no longer under our control.
