Waging Justice for Women Fellow
Yvonne Kiprop is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a dedicated member of FIDA-Kenya, currently serving her fellowship at the Katiba Institute. Her professional journey is underpinned by a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi and a Post-Graduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law.
Building on this academic foundation, Yvonne has cultivated professional experience spanning litigation, advocacy, policy formulation and volunteer work to advance the rights of women and girls. She specializes in constitutional law, gender justice, and strategic litigation. Her career aspiration is to ensure the protection of the fundamental rights and freedoms of women and girls both inside and outside the courtroom, a commitment driven by her deep motivation to address pressing social injustices within her community.
During her fellowship, Yvonne is focused on exploring tangible interventions to combat the critical plight of gender-based violence (GBV) and femicide in Kenya. She aims to significantly deepen her skills in evidence-based advocacy and constitutional defense ultimately contributing to meaningful legal and systemic change.
