Madlala
Waging Justice for Women Fellow
Senamile Madlala is serving her fellowship with the Initiative for Strategic Litigation in Africa (ISLA). Her expertise includes constitutional law, international law, social activism, strategic and impact litigation, with a focus on applying a feminist and intersectional lens. She began her legal career at the Women’s Legal Centre, working on issues ranging from relationship equality and sexual health to violence prevention, housing access, and climate justice.
Senamile received her Bachelor of Laws degree from Stellenbosch University and is an admitted attorney of the High Court. In 2023, she was selected for the first cohort of the NGO Committee on the Status of Women/NY Global Youth Fellows for Gender Equality. She was appointed the first Co-Lead of the incoming fellows for the organization in 2024/2025.
As a Waging Justice for Women Fellow, Senamile looks forward to harnessing her skills to continue creating a freer, more equal, and safer society for women and girls in all their diversities.
