Waging Justice for Women Fellow

Laura Kwamboka Osinde is a Kenyan lawyer who is serving her fellowship with the Katiba Institute. She is a dedicated feminist advocate for the human rights of girls and young women. She received her Bachelor of Law degree from Kabarak University in Kenya in 2019. She also has a postgraduate diploma from the Advocates Training Program of the Kenya School of Law. She served as a Legal Officer at Women Volunteers for Peace, a young women-led organization that seeks to support the role of girls and young women at risk in health promotion and peace and security education through advocacy. She has been involved in planning and coordinating legal talks in different Kisumu Sub-Counties in Kenya. Laura has worked to promote the role of girls and young women in peace building, create awareness on challenges and risks that undermine peace, and end violence and discrimination against girls and women. Prior to that, Laura was worked at the Litigation Department of the Office of the Attorney General and Department of Justice in Kenya, where she was able to hone her skills in drafting and litigation.
