Kate McFarland
Legal Program Manager at The Docket
Kate McFarland is a Legal Program Manager with the Clooney Foundation for Justice’s Docket initiative. She is CFJ’s representative in The Hague, collaborating closely with the International Criminal Court and other international institutions. She is a qualified lawyer in both New York and Ontario, with a background in international criminal law.
Prior to her work with CFJ, Kate was a Human Rights Fellow with Columbia Law School, where she served as a research assistant for the Human Rights Institute and the Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights. Previously, Kate’s work has focused on the investigation, documentation, and prosecution of sexual and gender-based violence. She was the gender focal point with Justice Rapid Response, an NGO that supports the investigation and prosecution of atrocity crimes and human rights violations around the world. She also interned with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and clerked at the Court of Quebec (Criminal and Penal Division) in Montreal, Canada. She has experience in international litigation and arbitration, having worked for Winston & Strawn LLP in its Paris office.
