Waging Justice for Women Fellow
Deborah Raduba is serving her fellowship at the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria, South Africa. Her academic and professional work is grounded in a long-standing commitment to human rights, with a particular focus on women’s access to land, housing, and property rights. She specialises in advancing equitable access to land and secure tenure; her work is driven by a deep dedication to social justice and the pursuit of fair and inclusive legal solutions for women.
Deborah holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Master of Laws, specialising in Constitutional Litigation and Human Rights, from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa and served as a Law Clerk at the Constitutional Court of South Africa from 2023 to 2024.
As a Waging Justice for Women Fellow, motivated by the challenges surrounding women’s access to housing and property rights, Deborah hopes to expand her expertise as a feminist lawyer by honing her skills in providing a crucial gendered lens to litigation and advocacy. Her ultimate goal is to significantly enhance women’s access to justice by addressing systemic barriers to their fundamental rights.
