Waging Justice for Women Fellow

Christine Tenneh Dono is a Liberian lawyer who is serving her fellowship with the Association of Female Lawyers of Liberia. She holds a Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree from the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law at the University of Liberia; a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Sociology/Management from Cuttington University; and a postgraduate diploma in Diplomacy and International Relations from the Gabriel L. Dennis Foreign Service Institute, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Liberia. She is a Class VII Fellow of the President Young Professional Program (PYPP-Liberia), a ’22 Fellow of the NDI’s Network of Emerging Women in Politics (NEW-Politics) Cohort II, and a panelist of AFRICA.COM’s Heads of State Initiative Workshop 2022. Between 2018 and 2020, she volunteered with the Legal Aid Clinic of the Liberian National Bar Association providing pro bono legal services for the jail delivery of female pre-trial detainees at the overcrowded Monrovia Central Prison and mediating domestic affairs, including child support and spousal support for women and children. She is the Founder and Presenter of “The Law Society and You,” a flagship radio program that teaches rural communities, especially women and girls, about their rights under Liberian Law.
