Waging Justice for Women Fellow

Brenda Khwale is a Malawian lawyer who is serving her fellowship with The Centre for Human Rights Education, Advice and Assistance (CHREAA). She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree, a Diploma in Law, as well as a certificate in child protection case management. Her human rights career began with an internship at CHREAA, which built her experience in research, advocacy and litigation. Previously, Brenda worked with the judiciary as a research assistant. She is an active mentor at the Malawi Girls Guide Association where her primary responsibility is mentoring, motivating, and empowering girls in the communities. She is passionate about the intersection of rights of marginalized groups and the criminal justice system. As a Waging Justice for Women fellow, she looks forward to enriching her exposure to human rights advocacy at a larger scale and honing her skills in women’s rights litigation.
