Bendu earned a Bachelor of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Laws in General Law from the University of Liberia, and a Master of Laws in International Human Rights Law from the Irish Centre for Human Rights, University of Galway. Her track record includes leading legal aid programs that delivered free representation to over 1,000 indigent clients, managing continuing legal education initiatives that trained 200+ lawyers under USAID’s justice sector reform, and coordinating gender-focused legal interventions that improved access for vulnerable communities.

She also contributed to transnational litigation strategies during her placement with the Global Legal Action Network, researching corporate accountability for human rights and environmental violations in West Papua. Through her fellowship, Bendu is leveraging her expertise and global network to scale legal aid services, influence policy reforms, and champion justice for Liberia’s most marginalized populations.
