Asser Khattab is a Communications Officer at the Clooney Foundation for Justice. A former journalist, he covered the Middle East from 2016 to 2020 for various international media outlets, including The Washington Post, the Financial Times, and the Spanish News Agency (EFE). In 2021, Asser left journalism and started working for human rights organizations. He was a Research and Communications Officer at the International Commission of Jurists for one and a half years before joining CFJ in August 2022. Asser enjoys reading and writing, and occasionally publishes essays on a variety of topics.
Before joining CFJ, Asser worked as a journalist in the Middle East, reporting on Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq, for various international media outlets including The Washington Post, the Financial Times, and the Spanish News Agency (EFE).
