Darren Walker
President of the Ford Foundation
A champion of the nonprofit sector, Darren Walker has been included as one of the Time’s 100 Most Influential People, Rolling Stone’s 25 People Shaping the Future, Fast Company’s Most Creative People in Business, Ebony Power’s 100, Out magazine’s Power 50, and was named Wall Street Journal’s 2020 Philanthropy Innovator.
Before joining Ford, Mr. Walker was the vice president at Rockefeller Foundation, overseeing global and domestic programs. In the 1990s, he was the COO of the Abyssinian Development Corporation, Harlem’s largest community development organization. Mr. Walker co-founded both the US Impact Investing Alliance and the Presidents’ Council on Disability Inclusion in Philanthropy. He is a member of the boards of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Carnegie Hall, the National Gallery of Art, and the Committee to Protect Journalists.
