Since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, The Docket has been gathering evidence of war crimes to trigger criminal prosecutions and bring justice to the survivors. We have documented indiscriminate attacks that killed civilians, destroyed civilian objects, as well as executions, enforced disappearances, torture, sexual violence, looting and other crimes committed by Russian forces.
I believe we got here by ignoring justice for too long. For too long, we have watched as perpetrators of mass human rights abuses have murdered, raped, and tortured without consequence, from Darfur to Myanmar to Yemen.
