Head of Digital Communications
Philippa H. Stewart is Head of Digital Communications at the Foundation, responsible for digital media, communications outreach, and media strategy. Previously, she was the Senior Media Manager at Human Rights Watch, where she ran the press desk and worked on digital and communications strategy with a focus on LGBT rights and Children’s rights. She has been a guest speaker at the New School and the Cardozo School of Law, focusing on media and storytelling. A qualified journalist, she has worked as a freelance reporter and photographer in Ukraine, and before that worked for Al Jazeera as a producer and editor. She has also reported from Mongolia, Afghanistan, and the United Kingdom. Philippa has authored multiple articles that have been placed in international outlets such as Al Jazeera, Vice News, Middle East Eye, and the Observer. She has an NCE qualification in journalism, a B.A. from the University of Durham, and is currently studying for an M.A. in Human Rights at the University of London’s School of Advanced Studies.
