Karakioulaki
Legal Fellow at the Docket
Dimitra Karakioulaki is a Legal Fellow at the Clooney Foundation for Justice’s Docket initiative. She is a qualified lawyer in Greece and New York. Prior joining CFJ as a fellow, she was a Policy Fellow at Accountability Counsel; a Researcher at the Commission of Inquiry for Cambodia; and a Research Assistant at the Human Rights Institute of Columbia Law School. Previously, she served as a trainee lawyer at Ktenidis Tsiantos law firm in Greece; a Research Intern at the Jean Monnet Center of Excellence of the University of Macedonia; and an Intern at the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Her pro bono work and research has included human rights law, international criminal law, and corporate accountability. In May 2022 she received the Columbia Law School Human Rights Institute Commendation for Leadership and Commitment in Human Rights award. She is a graduate of Columbia Law School (LL.M.; Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar; Public Interest Honoree; Parker School Certificate for Achievement in International and Comparative Law), the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (LL.M., Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Scholar), and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (LL.B.). In addition to her native Greek, she fluently speaks English, German and French.

Prior to starting her Fellowship, Dimitra Karakioulaki was a Policy Fellow at Accountability Counsel, a Researcher at the Commission of Inquiry for Cambodia, and a Research Assistant at the Human Rights Institute of Columbia Law School.
